Die Mommie Die! is a comic melodrama evoking the 1960s “Grande Dame Guignol” films that featured aging stars such as Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, and Lana Turner. Desperate to find happiness with her younger lover, ex-pop singer Angela Andrews poisons her film producer husband, which leaves her two children to avenger their father’s death. The play’s plot is a mix of Greek tragedy and Hollywood kitsch.
